My passion is learning and encouraging others to learn. PMB Services has been in operation since 2016 and prior to this I was a Lecturer with TAFE SA, delivering literacy and numeracy units to adults with low level literacy and numeracy. My qualifications include Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) training through IMSLE, Yoshimoto Morphology Training, Maths-U-See Foundation, Fractions, Decimals and Percent Training through Maths Australia, Graduate Certificate in Education (Special Education), Undergraduate degree in Social Science, including the psychology of learning, Diploma in Teaching and Assessing and Certificate IV in Literacy and Numeracy.
Through experience, I have learned that everyone is different and learning needs to be tailored to a person’s level and interest. This is possible through one-on-one specialist lessons and therefore is why tutoring can yield great results. Some people take longer to master certain concepts and so need the extra support, encouragement and guidance for them to flourish. I work on building confidence and the desire to learn first so that motivation is high, and knowledge will be retained. Building and developing foundations to mastery is key. “Practice Makes Better” is my motto, showing that perseverance and hard work always pays off. I enjoy watching children increase their knowledge through appropriate instruction and support to find their own success.
